CHEAP OR FREE FALL BUCKET LIST ACTIVITIES

free fall bucket list activities

I am not a person who adores fall. Not that there is anything wrong with fall, but simply for the fact that it represents the close of summer and basically the start of winter. What can I say, I’m a summer person, and I’m not afraid to admit it. Many of my friends are fall people, who are excited about pumpkin spice everything and wearing boots and scarves. This year I’m doing my best to be excited about it. Since we are still working hard to pay off our student loans, we do all of our activities on a budget. So, I’ve come up with a bucket list of all the things we’re going to do to make this our most fall-y fall yet. It has made me considerably less sad about fall.

  1. Go to a pumpkin patch
  2. Carve pumpkins
  3. Hike through the fall leaves
  4. Make fall art with leaves
  5. Bake Halloween themed sugar cookies
  6. Drink apple cider by the fire
  7. Go apple picking
  8. Rake and jump and play in leaves
  9. Play football
  10. Hay ride
  11. Watch a spooky movie
  12. Go on a scenic drive in the fall leaves
  13. Have a bon fire, make smores
  14. Collect pine cones
  15. Make soup
  16. Go camping
  17. Watch football
  18. Decorate your home for fall
  19. Visit a corn maze
  20. Make Halloween costumes

  1. I have a friend coming to visit from California and she is very much looking forward to seeing a Colorado autumn. I just recently lost my job, so we will be focusing on free fun. Hikes and fall scenery are definitely on the itinerary, along with some homemade pumpkin bread. We opted to buy fall-themed coffee creamer instead of dropping $15+ at Starbucks. It’s amazing what you come up with when you take the focus off what you can’t do and put your energy towards what you can do. Thanks for the great ideas!

    1. Colorado is the perfect place to live for free fun! So jealous. Sorry about the job loss– hope good things are headed your way! And fall themed creamer was a great idea!
